Along with Germany, France had developed the Alpha Jet in the 1970s, with the French Air Force turning its focus to using the aircraft for advanced training. This special livery, which paid tribute to the squadron's two squadrons ahead of their disbandment, was unveiled in 2019 at Cazaux Air Base in south-west France. A year later, the unit was officially dissolved. On the left side this Alpha Jet E bears the colors and crests of 4C1 Squadron with their leaping lion and on the right side the winged trident of 3C2 Squadron.
