Hobby Master die cast model

The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) F/A-18 Hornet is a supersonic twin engine all-weather night fighter and attack aircraft. The F/A-18s first flew in November 1978 and the first production flight on April 12, 1980. The first 380 aircraft were F/A-18As and in September 1987 production switched to the F/A-18C. Variants A and C are single-seat aircraft while B and D are tandem-seats. The Hornet can operate from either aircraft carriers or land bases

The latest home base for Fliegerstaffel 11 (Fighter Squadron 11) (Tigers) is Meiringen AB. Although Switzerland isn’t a member of NATO Fliegerstaffel 11 is a member of the NATO Tiger Association and takes part in their Tiger Meets. Fliegerstaffel 11 became a full member in 1991. In 2004 a decision was made to give an F/A -18C a permanent special tiger scheme with the honor going to J-5011. During normal operation J-5011 is flown by the squadron commander and if the Solo Display aircraft is from Fliegerstaffel 11 the aircraft will be J-5011 Scale: 1:72
