Northwest Airlines Corp. (often abbreviated NWA) was a major United States airline founded in 1926 and absorbed into Delta Air Lines Inc. by a merger. Approved on October 29, 2008, the merger made Delta the largest airline in the world until the American Airlines-US Airways Merger on December 9, 2013. Northwest continued to operate under its own name and brand until the integration of the carriers was completed on January 31, 2010.
Northwest was headquartered in Eagan, Minnesota near Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. After World War II it became dominant in the trans-Pacific market with a hub in Tokyo, Japan (initially Haneda Airport, later Narita International Airport). After acquiring Republic Airlines in 1986, Northwest also established major hubs at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and Memphis International Airport. In 1993 it began a strategic alliance with KLM and a jointly-coordinated European hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The Detroit and Minneapolis operations were retained as Delta hubs. However, the Memphis operation has been reduced from more than 300 to fewer than 21 flights a day.

There no serious problems with this mould and this is another beautiful example of a A330-200, though I don't really think of it as a classic since it is hardly old enough.
Among other things, this model is painted in the proper color. The NW tail looks great. The passenger windows, doors and cargo bay doors are clearly printed. On the doors there are many to small to read labels along with the door handle.
The engines are properly shaped and hung well on the pylons. There are no visible seams were the wings meet the fuselage. The model has rolling rubber tires and on the nose gear cover the fleet number is printed.
Landing lights and warning lights are visible on the wings. It is hard to see the nose gear landing light. The cockpit shape, cockpit windows and cockpit nose are come in with high ratings.
I am glad to see this model as I have often worried that after the merger the manufacturers may not pay enough attention the old airlines. (Posted on 8/12/2015)
