This model is such a great model to do in polished metal. It is a gorgeous reproduction of N1244N when it flew for Alaska Airlines. It later crashed Oct. 29, 1960 while flying for Arctic Pacific.
The aircraft model is configured for cargo and passenger service. When it crashed it had 45 people on board.
The nose and cockpit shape are spot on. Windows are printed in gray, maybe it would have been better to use a darker gray or black. On the tail, is found a large American flag, under the tail number N-1244N.
The leading edge of the wings are in black to represent the deicers. Engines are correctly shaped and the three bladed props spin.
With this addition to the 200 scale Alaska Airlines models, this is another star in the collection.
