The F-15SA will enhance the national security of Saudi Arabia. The F-15SA has a missile launch detection system as well as infrared search and track system. The F-15SA variant is capable of carrying twice the missile load of the F-15C/E as well as carrying weapons for long-range stand-off situations. These aircraft are capable of numerous operations that earlier F-15s weren’t able to perform. Qatar has ordered 36 F-15QAs, an offshoot of the F-15SA. The first 3 aircraft arrived in November 2021.

F-15SA(Saudi Advanced) 0633 of the Royal Saudi Air Force U.S. serial 12-1073, is one of 84 aircraft acquired from Boeing using the U.S. intergovernmental FMS (Foreign Military Sales) sales program. The newer variant of the F-15 features fly-by-wire instead of digital electronic control systems and many other advanced features. The “0” in front of the RSAF serials was an error and will be removed at some point. F-15SA 0633 is assigned to the recently formed 29th Squadron based at the King Faisal AFB, Tabuk.
